What Is Somatic Healing?

 

Somatic healing is body-based emotional support.

The word “somatic” simply means “of the body.” Somatic healing recognizes that stress, grief, fear, burnout, and overwhelm do not only live in your thoughts. They can also show up in your body.

You may feel it as tight shoulders, a heavy chest, stomach tension, shallow breathing, exhaustion, restlessness, numbness, or a constant feeling that you cannot fully relax.

Somatic healing helps you slow down, listen to those signals, and support your nervous system in a gentle, grounded way.

This work is not about fixing you.

It is about helping your body remember what safety feels like.

You do not need to relive trauma.

 

You do not need to perform, be positive, or have the “right” words.

 

We begin with where you are.

 

My role is to create a calm, supportive space where your nervous system can settle and your body can begin to release what it is ready to let go of.

Some sessions include Reiki. Others focus more on grounding, nervous system regulation, intuitive guidance, or simply creating space to slow down and breathe.

Somatic healing focuses more on the body, the nervous system, and how stress or emotion may be showing up physically and energetically.

 

Many people benefit from both.

 

My work is supportive, intuitive, and body-aware. It is not a replacement for medical care, counselling, crisis support, or mental health treatment.
